Polish Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability in Gdansk (PSONI) strives towards equal opportunities for People With Intellectual Disability (PWID), working to create conditions under which their rights are respected, leading them towards active participation in social life and supporting their families.
It is a non-profit non-governmental organisation, established in 1992.
The mission of the organisation is:
– to take care of the PWID’s human dignity, help them to find their place in family and society and let them experience life happiness,
– to give support to families to help them face the challenge of having an intellectually disabled child, bringing the child up, living with the child on a daily basis as well as helping the families to convert their experience into the willingness to help others.
